Top Mount Damper

Feeling chills from cold winds blowing in from the top of your fireplace? Without a proper cover at the top of your chimney, you are not only letting the outside breeze in, you are losing the air inside your home—along with the money you spend monthly on air conditioning and heating.

If you have a wood burning masonry fireplace, our Energy Top Mount Dampers are what you need to seal your chimney. They come with a lifetime warranty and a lifetime guarantee of energy efficiency and chimney protection.

Traditional dampers

The flue dampers that exist on older chimneys are made of metal. This makes for a weak seal and the possibility of water damage and corrosion. If it gets rusty enough, you may not be able to open the valve when you want to use your fireplace.

Our dampers

Although you can choose from a variety of dampers, a top sealing damper is the best choice when it comes to long-lasting security. It is made of a durable metal cap that opens and closes manually. Many come with a rubber gasket that fits snug and ensures that no heat or air can escape or get in.

One of our professionals will attach an Energy Top Mount Dampers to the flue tile on the top of your chimney. They come with or without an animal guard and are available in many sizes—so we can find the perfect fit for you!

You will notice better fireplace performance and less pollution. And because they serve as both a damper and a chimney cap, they will reduce outside noise; prevent the invasion of animals, insects, or debris; and keep the air and heat you pay for inside your home.

By investing in a top mount damper now, you will undeniably save more money in energy efficiency down the road.

How to use your new damper

Whenever you use your fireplace, open the damper in order to let the fumes escape. A steel cable is attached at the top and runs down the inside of the chimney. With an easily accessible lever near the opening, you need only to pull down and fire up the wood.
